Nicolas Wagner Ehlinger

Nicolas has done it. He successfully took part in the 2022 World Championships in Herning/DEN and in the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo/JPN and the European Championships in Hagen/GER - on the Quater Back Junior FRH, which he trained himself.

The path from his first pony, Lieschen, a chestnut Welsh mare, to the Olympic Games, World and European Championships was not straightforward. As a child, Nicolas at times flirted with show jumping and even mountain biking. But in the end it was dressage - and breeding. He had a great weakness for dressage from an early age and has a very extensive knowledge of pedigrees.

Vita

At the age of 16 he competed on the riding pony Lordy at the European Championships in Avenches, Switzerland. In 2009 and 2010 he competed at the European Junior Championships in Ermelo/NED with Montepiano and Kronberg/GER on De Ville B.

During his time with Olympic Champion and Riding Master Klaus Balkenhol in Germany, he discovered his top horse Quater Back Junior FRH and returned to Elvange after successfully completing his apprenticeship as a rider. On Quitzow started in the U25 Tour for the first time at Grand Prix level. He took over the bay gelding by Quando-Quando-Schampus from Holger Hartmann, who had presented him victoriously in tests for young riding horses. Further training was not easy, the gelding was downright afraid of other horses. But Nicolas succeeded in building up a basis of trust in him.

Nicolas also proved that he is a highly sensitive horse with "Juni", or Quater Back Junior FRH, as the Hanoverian gelding is called in real life. He was rather inconspicuous when he came directly from his owners in Spain to Klaus Balkenhol's stable when he was six years old - for further training. Nicolas took care of that. He believed in this chestnut, who at that time could hardly be restrained in his joy of walking. The rest is history ...

At the Société Hippique et d'Elevage, Nicolas is not only responsible for the education and training of the horses. He also takes care of customer service and overall management. Together with a well-known feed manufacturer, Nicolas also has his own concentrated feed produced.
